How to turn your dreams into reality

Define a (business) goal that you actually can achieve
What I see people struggling with all the time, especially new entrepreneurs but also seasoned leaders: achieving their strategic goals. They find themselves sitting and wondering why they can't achieve what they intended to or why they didn't get things done. Despite doing a lot of things. They see their dreams disappearing in a far distant cloud.

In most of the cases the cause of the problem is not in the distance but very close, right at the beginning. How they are setting their goals.
I would like to give you an example: "Starting a business" is not a goal.
But "starting a business that makes a monthly living with $7k per month within 1 year" is a goal.
So where is the difference? It is called defining SMART goal. That means that ideally your goal fullfills all the following five measures:
Your goal is SMART:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Timely
S: Give it a name so that you can write it down.
M: Set a timeframe/deadline so that this is not unspecific like somewhere in the future. We all know such things will never happen. And suddenly we find ourselves 40 years later down the road with still the same dream or goal we never started.
A & R: Your goal needs to be realistic and achievable. Making 1 Million in the first month might be possible but that is most likely a unicorn we heard of and is as realistic as winning the lottery. So ask your question if your goal is achievable. Well, this you can answer for sure.
T: And make it specific and measurable. As in my example the first sentence is rather unspecific. The second makes it measurable and a bit more specific. It would be even more specific if you would say with what exactly you want to achieve that goal, e.g."starting my business selling slime …"
Keep the SMART goal tactic in mind when you make you business and marketing plans. It is maybe time to check the goals that you have in mind if they match the SMART setting.
I hope this helps you to improve your goal setting process.
